About Us

The APEC Port Services Network (APSN) is a unique international organization established on November 5, 2008 in response to the directives of the 14th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting held in 2006, to bring together port and port-related industries with senior representatives in APEC member economies.

The mandate of the APSN is to promote economically and environmentally sustainable ports by strengthening cooperation, developing best practices and guidelines, enhancing supply chain effectiveness, building capacity and stimulating information and personnel exchange among port and port-related industries and services in the Asia Pacific region with the goal of the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment to achieve common prosperity of the APEC member economies.

Currently, 18 APEC member economies have joined the APSN as Council Members, including Australia; Canada; China; Hong Kong, China; Indonesia; Japan; Korea; Malaysia; New Zealand; Papua New Guinea; Peru; the Philippines; Russia; Singapore; Chinese Taipei; Thailand; the United States and Viet Nam. The APSN also has 16 Advisory Board Members and more than 100 Corporate and Associate Members from port, shipping, logistics, trade, finance, and other related industries in the APEC region. The current President and Vice-Presidents of the APSN Council are, respectively, from Canada, Singapore and Malaysia. The Secretary-General is from China. The Secretariat is headquartered in Beijing, China.
